Susie Wargin, a native of Colorado, began her communications career in Fort Collins as a radio intern while going to college at Colorado State University.
She paid her dues behind the scenes in radio before becoming a daytime DJ for KBPI in Denver in 1995, where she "Rocked the Rockies" for almost nine years. During that time, her love of sports had her contributing to "The Zoo" on sister station 850-KOA, were she eventually became the first female sports reporter.
She spent two years as the radio sideline reporter for Colorado State University football games before being hired at 9News in September of 2001 as the high school prep sports reporter. Three years later, after hosting the Prep Rally, the Sonny Lubick Show and filling in for the guys, Wargin was hired to be the morning weekday sports anchor.
