Because CPW no longer runs its own contest, Colorado-based members of NFPW are urged to enter the At-Large Contest run by the National Federation of Press Women for states without an active contest. Once a large number of Colorado members begin entering the At-Large Contest, CPW will reactivate a state level contest. First place At-Large winners are automatically entered in NFPW’s national contest. Competitors are often from New York, New Hampshire, Maryland, Louisiana, Nevada, Tennessee, Oregon, Wyoming, Georgia, Florida, Connecticut and Michigan.
NFPW Communications Contest encourages and rewards excellence in communications in a wide range of categories — writing, editing and page design, photography and graphics, radio and television, web and social media, advertising, public relations/promotion/publicity, speeches, collegiate/education, books and creative writing.
