Lee Anne Peck
Lee Anne Peck, Co-Vice President, Membership

Lee Anne Peck is an assistant professor of journalism and mass communications at the University of Northern Colorado. She is one of only two people in the United States to have a unique Ph.D. in journalism ethics from Ohio University, Athens. She teaches public relations, media ethics and magazine writing courses at UNC. Her research area is media ethics.

Before moving into academia full time, Peck worked at several newspapers as a writer or editor (or both), including the Moline (Ill.) Daily Dispatch, the Columbus (Ind.) Republic, the Fort Collins Coloradoan and the Rocky Mountain News. She also worked for the Tampa Tribune's online product, Tampa Bay Online, as its first intern in the mid-1990s, and worked as a copy editor for the now-defunct Denver Sidewalk, an online Microsoft entertainment site.

Peck continues to freelance for magazines and has done freelance public relations work. In addition to the Ph.D., she has accumulated three master's degrees — in philosophy, Ohio University; journalism studies, Poynter Institute fellow, University of South Florida, St. Petersburg; and English, Colorado State University. Her bachelor's is in technical journalism from CSU.
