Marcia Neville grew up in the 1970s in Monroe, N.Y., when network television was just starting to include women in its NFL coverage, and she was inspired by those pioneers to try it herself.
After graduating from Ithaca College, Neville became the weekend sports anchor at WNYT-TV in Albany, N.Y. She brought her passion for sports and storytelling to Denver in 1983, where she became the first female television sportscaster in Colorado. When she arrived at CBS4, Neville became the prep sports specialist, covering Colorado's high school athletes, which she calls "the best job in the state."
Over the years, Neville's work has been recognized nationally with awards from the Women's Sports Foundation, American Women in Radio and Television and American Women in Communications. She has also won several Heartland Emmies for Sports Reporting, Hosting and Producing.
Neville was one of three women to receive an honorable mention in the 2006 Unique Women of Colorado awards, presented by by the Denver Post, The Women's Foundation of Colorado and Lockheed Martin.
She serves on the selection committees for both the Sportswomen of Colorado Awards and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame.
