Marcia Simmons is the director of marketing and communications for Colorado Public Television - KBDI, Channel 12. She previously spent 25 years in the cable television and satellite television industries, starting first as a writer of franchise proposals in the cable industry and later serving as corporate communications manager, corporate public affairs group manager and division vice president of public and governmental affairs.
While an undergraduate and graduate student at Kansas State University, she also was a reporter and copy desk editor for the Topeka Capital-Journal. Here in Colorado, she also managed communications for the Colorado State University Extension Office in Jefferson County and was director of public relations and marketing for Colorado State Parks.
