Deborah Goeken was appointed managing editor of the Rocky Mountain News in September 1999. She joined the newspaper in 1986 as a business writer, then went on to become business editor, metro and city editor, and assistant managing editor/news.

Before joining the Rocky Mountain News, she worked at the Peoria Journal Star. She is a graduate of Bradley University.
