Marion Galant
Marion Galant, Co-Vice President, Programs

Marion Galant recently retired from 21 years of state service but she still shows up at the state health department for work two days a week! She retired as the community involvement manager of the Hazardous Materials Division, a job she describes as "part health educator, part writer/editor."

Marion is a veteran programming co-vice president, having filled the same job for two years for the International Association for Public Participation. She has used her master's degree from the Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University and a bachelor's from Boston University (English literature). Her consulting work has been primarily as a public relations specialist for government and in marketing and public relations for non-profit agencies.

A Colorado resident since 1976, Marion is an enthusiastic volunteer public relations committee member for the Susan B. Komen for the Cure, the non-profit that produces the Race for the Cure and the Pink Tie Affair, signature fundraisers to raise money for the fight against breast cancer. She is a 12-year survivor herself. She also is on the board of the Rocky Flats Cold War Museum and active with her congregation, Temple Sinai. Marion is the mother of two grown daughters and the wife of Alex. They live in Denver.
