Patti Dennis has been with Gannett Broadcasting for more than 28 years. She began her career as a studio camera operator in 1978 at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City. She was promoted to noon, 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. producer until she left KOCO for a producing position at KDFW-TV in Dallas, Texas. While there, Dennis produced a myriad of newscasts and special projects.
She was hired in Denver at KUSA in 1981 as weekend producer. She has produced newscasts in various time periods at KUSA for more than 18 years. While at KUSA, Dennis was promoted to executive producer of an afternoon talk/variety show called "Good Afternoon Colorado." In addition to producing GAC as a daily, live one-hour program, Dennis produced 135 episodes of a spin-off for the Discovery Channel called "Start to Finish." This show still appears in the Discovery daily lineup from time to time.
Dennis returned to news in 1994 from GAC to become executive producer of the newsroom. In 1996, she was named news director and promoted to vice president/news in 1998.
Dennis and her husband, Tim, have two daughters, Tawny, 18, and Tori, 15, and two mini-dachshunds. When she's not chasing the kids or the dogs, she's running in the Colorado hills.
